Lawrence E. Biegel, Attorney at Law

Dedicated Criminal Defense & Personal Injury Lawyer in Monterey County

Managing Partner Lawrence E. Biegel is a Monterey County personal injury lawyer in good standing with the California State and Monterey County Bar Associations.

Larry is one of the most skilled and respected trial attorneys in California. Over the years, he has successfully tried criminal cases involving major felonies including a death penalty case, civil actions involving complex business issues, and personal injury involving motorcycle accidentsauto accidents, and ATV cases with the support of investigators and expert witnesses.

Recently, Larry defended a client charged by the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office with First Degree Murder. After a three week trial, the jury returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY on all charges. Late in the evening of the verdict, the client was released from the Monterey County Jail after being incarcerated for 15 months. The day of his release, the firm threw a luncheon for the client and his family. Needless to say, he was delighted to be able to return to his family and his job.

Partnering with a San Francisco law firm, Larry and his team at the Biegel Law Firm represented a client who was rendered a quadriplegic after an 18-wheel long-haul truck and trailer crossed over the median strip of Highway 101 and crash landed on top of our client’s vehicle. Working tirelessly over 18 months, the Biegel Law Firm was able to obtain an $11 million settlement for the client. Recently, the firm was overjoyed to be invited to the housewarming party for their client’s multi-million dollar residence in Carmel Valley.

Larry is an inductee of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has served as the President of the Monterey County Bar Association. In recognition of his outstanding jury trial skills, he received the Lewis L. Fenton Award in 2006 for excellence in trial advocacy.

Larry graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles and attended and graduated from the UCLA School of Law. After law school, he clerked for a judge of the California Court of Appeals before becoming active as a trial lawyer.
